How we started
Because;
1) Many exchange students came to the Science Department of the Prefectural University in Techno Polis.
2) Researchers of Science and their families are staying in Spring-8.
Other Activities
Supporting in their daily lives and mental/psychological problems, having a class for international understanding at an elementary school, visiting social facilities, hiking, having some parties (e.g. Flower viewing, Tea ceremony with moon viewing, Yukata party, Christmas party, Cooking party)
Strength/Features
We have a good and comfortable atmosphere. There are some Japanese who are studying Chinese or Korean as well.
Weakness/Problems
There is less cooperation with the local government. The organizations which accept some foreign students and researchers do not provide any Japanese classes for them. We would like to introduce them to some foreign people because we think that will make our activities recognized and the number of volunteers will increase.
