Resource Center User Card
User Registration and Issuing of User Cards
Those who reside, work, or study in Hyogo Prefecture are elibigle to borrow books from the library. A Resource Center user card is necessary to borrow books. Please apply for a card at the circulation counter of the Resource Center. Only one card may be issued per user.
A. Please write your name, address, telephone number, and place of work on the library user registration form.
B. Please show proof of identity for registration.
Proof of identity includes the following documents on which the applicant's name and address are recorded and date of registration is valid.
1. Card issued by the head of applicant’s workplace or school
2. Certificate of Residence (within three months of the date of issuance)
3. Driver's license
4. Health insurance card
5. Other publically-issued identification cards
Note: For foreign residents, an alien registration card can be accepted as proof of identity. Student identification cards may also be accepted if the pertinent information is recorded on the card.
However, passports cannot be accepted as identification.
Period of Validity and Renewals
They may be renewed when first borrowing a book or using the multimedia library after the three year period of validity has expired. Please present proof of identity and record any changes to your personal information on the library user card registration form to receive a new user card.
Updates and Loss
1. Please inform the Resource Center immediately of a change of address or any other personal information on the library user card registration form. (Proof of the updated personal information is necessary.)
2. If you lose your card, please inform the Resource Center immediately to receive a new card.
3. Never deface your user card or lend it to others.
Retention of personal information at the HIA
Library user card registration forms are retained for a period of three years.
The Hyogo International Association destroys personal information immediately upon its expiration.
The Hyogo International Association may send announcements about seminars and other Hyogo International Association events to users who have agreed to receive such announcements.
Lending of books
1. Lending of books
Users may borrow up to five books for a period of two weeks.
If the due date of a book falls on a date that the Hyogo International Plaza is not open, the book will be due on the following open day.
2. Reserving books
In the case that a user requests books already checked out by another user, the requesting user may reserve up to two books at a time to check out once they have been returned by another user.
Please inform the Resource Center how we may contact you, and we will inform you when your book is ready to be picked up. Come to the Resource Center to pick up your book within 10 days. If you do not pick up your book within 10 days, your reservation may be canceled.
3. Reference material
Dictionaries, encyclopedias, almanacs, audiovisual material, and other reference material may not be taken outside the Resource Center.
4. Lending prohibited
Users may not lend books they have checked out to a third party. Damage sustained as a result of lending to a third party will be borne by the person issued the user card.
Please bring borrowed materials back to the Hyogo International Plaza by their due date.
